Senior Prom: Lyrics
Katrina Hayes 2003-2004

Last filing as a highschooler
This is a date to know
And whether you're the queen or not
It's not'n option to blow

Weeks were spent preparing
Perfect hair, perfect shoes, all the rest
And all of this was of course
Done to match the dress
Your girlfriends squeal when you get a date
And you return the favor
There's just one hurdle left to jump
And that's the day before

Your senior prom comes only once
And man it's quite a show
You find a date and find some friends
And pile in the limo

You finally arrive for dinner
And it goes quick-a-lee
So soon you all are standing 'round
Rather awkwardly
As you watch all with your nervous eyes
You are quite quick to see
No one there's any better off
An' you're all quite soon at ease

Finally someone gets a hint
The music says it's time to dance
Everyone heads for the open floor
And with his arm you take your chance:

"My hair's a mess
And so's my dress
By the end
But who cares
It was fun!"

Whirling 'round the floor all night
Interspersed with some chatting
A night to remember certainly
For reunions of reminiscing

Your senior prom comes only once
And man it's quite a show
You find a date and find some friends
And pile in the limo

When that five-year finally rolls around
You'll hunt all of them down
You haven't spoken in quite some time
So you're met with a thoughtful frown
"How long ago was it?" you ask
To the one whose corsage you wore
He doesn't remember a damn thing
So you stomp off while you swore

Your senior prom came only once
That was a while ago
And as you screamed on the way there:
"Dress up, party down, it's a go!"
